Gypsy woman

Once upon a time - tell you - fairy tale!
There was a big man and a girl
They met in a bar the band played polka
She was dancin’ and he sang “layh, layh”
Her eyes shimmered green he was fascinated
Long black hair looked like a gypsy lady
Her skirt was coloured flew high in the air
Outside of the bar sat her dancin’ bear
She was the daughter of a gypsy king
Look how she danced and how she could sing
Like a hurricane she whirled cross the bar
the people stood up and sang: ”layh, layh”

Born in a tent, next to a fire
The spirit of freedom let her heart beat higher
The guy was so impressed by the girl
That he screamed out: “Be my gypsy girl!
You’re dancin’ wild like a mustang in the prairie
come let’s start a love affair, eh!”
She stopped her dancin’, looked deep in his eyes
and said: “sing layh, layh, layh, layh!”

The Danube flew next to the place
Where the gypsies settled down protected in the shade
When the bar closed down the gypsy girl
Took her new boyfriend to her gypsy world
Deep in the night the gypsy king
wanted to see how he could dance and sing
Like a hurricane he jumped round the campfire
With his new love even higher
They sang: “layh, layh...!”
